I was birding around Juneau's Mendenhall Glacier and I was walking right along the base of a small hill as the sun was setting. Just then, this female white winged crossbill landed, picked up a pine cone, and flew up to a branch right in front of me. I had a prime lens on and I couldn't zoom in or out at all. She was just close enough to fill my frame and not be too close or too far away. I snapped a couple off and the rest is history!
