Outside Resurrection Bay towards the Gulf of Alaska you may run into Spire Cove. This is an absolutely gorgeous landscape and the water color was seemingly tropical. 

Looking south to the Brooks Range while an early summer storm rolls over. Just 30 years ago, thunder and lightning was unheard of in this region of Alaska.

This was taken from Horse Island. I spent many childhood weekends enjoying this view. The sun kissed Chilkat Mountains.

In Resurrection Bay we found a rookery of Stellar Sea Lions. The Rock formations along the beach were incredibly diverse. 

After being hunted to near extinction the sea otter has rebounded and become one of conservation's success stories. While not seen frequently around Juneau, I managed to capture this Sea Otter foraging along Resurrection Bay in Seward, Alaska.

My shallow lake sampling in Denali National Park was grounded after my pilot couldn't fly. I decided to spend the weekend creeping around looking for wildlife. I stumbled upon this amazing female black wolf during her early morning hunt. We were within 12 feet of each other as she stopped to meet my gaze.
