A mink traveling along a stream in mid coast Maine.
The perils of camera trap photography- flash batteries died so no flash fired. Still a fun moment to share. Hope you enjoy.

An eastern #coyote on the hunt followed by a #redfox two nights later.
Areas of overlap like these may be minimized by the subordinate red #fox using olfaction in risk analysis.
This is near one of my summer field sites!

A ruffed grouse walking down a game trail in Maine. It's that time of year when they are looking for mates. Keep an ear out for the male ruffed grouse when they drum their wings, displaying for females!

A Bobcat on the prowl at midnight, following a snowshoe hare trail. Fallen trees like this make great microhabitat structure for snowshoe hares who need coverage to hide and escape. However, with an ambush predator like this, you may not get a chance to run or hide.
